On the 30th of August 7E and our buddy class 5E will be presenting a song about Respect at our school assembly. Parents are welcome to come and watch. The assembly will be at 2:15.

This week is Boook Week! We have had lots of fun looking at the Book Fair and some of us have even been lucky enough to buy a book.

Also, this Friday is ‘Book Week’ dress up day. You can come dressed as your favourite character from a book. There will be an assembly at 9:00 to show off our costumes, and parents are welcome to come along and watch. If the costume is fragile or precious, you are welcome to bring a change of clothes for the remainder of the day, but if you would like to be a superhero or a princess for the whole day, go right ahead! I can’t wait to see all the wonderful characters we will have in our class on Friday. Does anyone want to try and guess who I am dressing up as?

The book that my character is from, is written by David Shannon.

It is one of our favourite story books from ‘Story line online’ that we have listened to many times.

This Thursday we will be walking down to Karrara Kindergarten to meet our new friends that will be joining us next term. We are very excited!

We will be walking down at 9:00 and will be back in time for recess at 11:00. In order for this to happen safely I will need 3 parents to come. If you are free this Thursday morning and are willing to help that would be much appreciated. Please come and see me or write a note in your child’s diary.

I will collect everyone’s fruit in the morning and put it in a tub to take down. Please put your child’s fruit in a plastic lunch bag or container that is named.

This week has been a great week. We have been busy with lots of fun things. On Tuesday we had Light House Keepers assembly. It was good to watch our representatives, L and S, up infront of the school. On Wednesday we had Splash Theatre, which was three people that acted out characters in books. Our favourite bits were, Stinky Bill and Oh the places you’ll go. Today we had photo day. We put on our best smiles and funny faces for the camera. 🙂

Tomorrow, the 6th of August, there will be a short Light House Keepers assembly to present certificates to our semester 1 Light House Keepers, and introduce our semester 2 representatives. This will only be a short assembly, however, parents are very welcome to come by and watch.

For the past week we’ve been getting to know the 7 new students that have joined our wonderful team! We are so excited to have them and they have settled in great. Due to the fact that we have a larger class and two reading groups, I would love some extra hands in the morning from around 9-9:30. Just one or two parents from a Monday to Thursday who are available and willing to listen to kids read and help with reading activities. I’ll place a sign up sheet in the classroom for anyone to write their name down if they are available on a certain day. Of course I do not expect anyone to commit every week, just when it’s possible.

Welcome! I am very excited to introduce our new blog to the parents, families and other classes who are interested in finding out a little more about what we do in 7E. This blog will be used in term 3 to share the things we do in our class and the wonderful learning we are undertaking. The blog will be updated at least once a week with information on what we are learning and the things that are happening in our school.
